Kurhaus takes part in Earth Hour
Kurhaus Wiesbaden is taking part in the global Earth Hour campaign on Saturday, March 28, 2026.
For the 20th time, lights around the world will be turned off on this day from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The goal is to send a collective message in support of environmental and climate protection. The WWF wants to show that we need to take better care of our planet.
Sustainability is also a top priority at the Kurhaus. As a historic landmark, the Kurhaus Wiesbaden faces an additional challenge in this regard. We are addressing this through numerous smaller projects in the areas of resource management, energy efficiency, waste reduction, and much more.
For Earth Hour, the lights will be turned off on Saturday, March 28, from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in areas of the Kurhaus not hosting events. In any case, lighting in the Kurhaus is always kept to a minimum during times when no events are taking place.
About WWF Earth Hour
Earth Hour was launched by the WWF in 2007 and has grown into a global event that gets bigger every year. Thousands of cities switch off the lights of many buildings and landmarks from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., including landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, the Acropolis, and Tokyo Skytree. Companies also plunge their headquarters or branches into darkness for an hour, and millions of people turn off the lights in their homes for 60 minutes. Together, they send a message about protecting our planet.
